STATUS CHANGE TO BQ

Status changes from AP – Currently, the system now automatic updates members to BQ status who have completed all their AUXCT training which include BCQII and have boating safety checked in their ADII record.  The FCs no longer need to inform DIRAUX when a member has completed their training for BQ status.  The DIRAUX however, still pull a roster from the system approximately every two weeks and for members who make IQ status. The only difference between IQ and BQ is the fact that a member must complete and provide documentation that they have completed a boating Safety course to be considered for BQ. Once boating safety is entered in the system for an IQ member, they automatically are changed to BQ. The only time you need to notify the DIRAUX of a member completing training, now is if you notice the member has been turned over and the training is showing up in ADII, but the system is not pulling the member up for whatever reason.

Along with the core training, members who join or rejoin the Auxiliary after 1 February 2018 are required to complete the BQCII training courses before they can be converted (turned over) to IQ or BQ status.  You may find some of your re-enrolled members in a BQ status.  That’s only because ADII did not distinguish a member who reenrolls apart from their initial entry date in the system.  They haven’t gotten around to adjusting the script to not include member who have a newer entry date in the system due to reenrollment.  We’re waiting on further guidance from BSX on what to do with those members.  Members must also have BQ status to also qualify for some competency award, so please check and make sure your members meet all the criteria for award of a qualification and if not, whether a waiver is authorized and justified.   If a waiver is authorized, ensure it goes thru the COLM.
